Eukaryotic mRNA has two parts to it: Introns - useless information Exons - coding DNA To help eliminate the chance of genetic mutations being expressed introns are removed from the mRNA by spliceososomes, leaving behind only the exons. Finally, an altered Guanine is attached to the 5' end - called the 5' cap. At the same time, lots of Adenines are added to the 3' end to make a poly-A tail.
